Original and scenographic, the bar cabinet is a surprising object to be discovered in moments of conviviality or appreciated in tranquillity.
Hayama’s interior preserves numerous functions. An alluring visual effect is created in the upper part thanks to a back mirror which gives greater depth to the space and frames on three sides an extra-clear glass shelf where glasses, decanters and bar accessories can be placed. The lower part consists of two central drawers and two side compartments, perfect for storing bottles, and serves as a shelf to conveniently prepare cocktails thanks to the LED lighting that brightens the atmosphere inside.
This piece is also available as a simple cabinet, lit with LED lighting like the bar version, with two lacquered shelves that can, for example, store tableware in the dining room.
Like sharp, subtle grooves that cut neatly into space, the essential lines of the Hayama model enter the home with three new multifunctional versions, a bar, a cabinet and a console table, that all carry the unmistakable signature of Patricia Urquiola.
Hayama is characterised by the same formal shape as a Haori, a traditional Japanese jacket worn over a kimono, and is the source of inspiration for the designer. In a play of bold geometries, these lacquered pieces of furniture stand out for the same distinctive features as the original sideboard presented in 2019: on the one hand, its emblematic structure with oblique legs and, on the other, an homage to the ancient art of lacquering which emphasises Cassina's manufacturing excellence.
Three new models for a functional collection
The Hayama collection has been developed with a new canneté effect workmanship for the doors, which has been added alongside the smooth finish, further emphasising the geometric contrast between its inclined lines and the façade’s verticality. In addition, it features two new shades of lacquer, powder and cream, which enhance the piece’s refined aesthetics, expanding the current range of ten colours.
